An album containing approximately 61 items of ephemera, the majority 18th century or earlier, including a fragmentary 1458 litterae clericatus, a late 15th century illuminated manuscript leaf from a Book of Hours, a 1663 letter to the City of London dating from before the Great Fire referring to ‘an execution of ye new traitors’ at Oxford, two early playing cards, a pencil drawing of Worcester, an engraving of the State Lottery, a single leaf from an incunabula printed bible, two autograph letters signed by William Lockyer describing naval action off Gibraltar circa 1759, other a.l.s. and printed ephemera.
