SHIP-BUILDING. The Engineer. [London:] January-June 1898. Vol. LXX5, no. 2193-2217. 24 issues, folio (399 x 289mm.) Numerous advertisements, several folding lithographed plates, mainly relating to ships and ship-building. (First few leaves loose and chipped, first issue loosening.) Original black half morocco (spine and upper cover detached, worn). Note: includes folding plates for ‘Torpedo Boats in the United States Navy’, ‘Map Showing the Railways of Japan up Until November, 1897’ and ‘United States Second-Class Battleship Maine’, ‘Four Cylinder Compound Passenger Engine, London and North-Western Railway’ and ‘Pumping Machinery, Streatham Station, Southwark and Vauxhall Waterworks’. Provenance: Institute of Agricultural History, University of Reading (bookplate to front pastedown).
