Numerous illustrations in the text. (Mild toning.) Original pictorial boards (light rubbing). Provenance: Stanley Collins, Magician (bookplate to front pastedown and signed with ‘Author’s Copy’ to front-free endpaper). – And a further four volumes related to conjuring (including a signed copy of Ernest Noakes’ ‘Magical Originalities’, 1914, 8vo, and Thomas Whiting’s ‘The Scientific Receptacle’, 1818, 12mo, and ‘Parlour Magic’, [1838], small 8vo, and ‘Fairburns’ ‘Christmas Pastime; or, Universal Riddler for 1832’, [1831], 12mo) (5).
