Half-titles, 3 folding maps, 3 folding charts, errata leaf, 3pp. publisher’s advertisements to rear, original wrappers bound-in at rear of volume II. (Toning, lacking 1 map.) Mid-20th century red and black cloth, printed paper labels mounted to spines. Provenance: R.A. Scales (name-plate to front pastedown of volume I). – And a further twenty-two volumes related to China (including Juliet Bredon’s ‘Peking, A Historical and Intimate Description of Its chief Places of Interest’, 1922, 8vo, and Émile Bard’s ‘Chinese Life in Town and Country’, 1905, 8vo) (24).
