LOT 3602
ROBY, J. Traditions of Lancashire. Second Series. London: Longman, Rees, Orme, Brown and Green, 1831. 2 vols., first edition, 8vo (210 x 129mm.) 9 engraved plates by Edward Finden, wood-engraved illustrations in the text. (Spotting to plate margins, toning, offsetting to titles.) Contemporary calf, two red morocco lettering pieces to the spines (lightly rubbed extremities). – And a further six volumes, mostly relating to Lancashire (including a signed copy of R. Cunliffe Shaw’s ‘The Royal Forest of Lancaster’, 1956, 4to, and John Gerard’s ‘Stoneyhurst College, Its Life Beyond the Seas, 1592-1794 and on English Soil, 1794-1894’, 1894, 4to) (8). Provenance: the property of The Much Hon. The Baron of Stobo.
