A mid-18th century pinchbeck Admiral Vernon medal commemorating the Battle of Cartagena 1741, obverse with Admiral Blas de Lezo kneeling, offering a sword to a standing Admiral Edward Vernon, Rear-Admiral Sir Chaloner Ogle standing right, reverse with two ships entering Cartagena harbour, Blas to the front in a rowing boat, the town beyond, diameter 38mm (fair/good). Provenance: purchased from Timothy Millett Ltd 11.10.08 for £85.
