An early 18th century silver Oliver Cromwell memorial medal 1658 by Jean Dassier, obverse with laureate, armoured and draped bust facing left, reverse with monument decorated with shield, helmet and palm, surrounded by four infant genii, detailed 'Nat.3.April.1603, Mort.3.Sept.1658' below, Eimer 203, diameter 38mm, weight 32.2g (extremely fine with old cabinet tone differing a little to either side, reverse with lustrous fields). Provenance: the collection of the late Robert Pearce of Normanton Hall, Normanton-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire.
