A mid-17th century silver medal by Thomas Rawlins commemorating the Restoration 1660, obverse with Moses watching the Israelites making bricks while being beaten by their Egyptian taskmasters, detailed 'Cum duplicatur onus redit Moyses', reverse with script in eight lines 'In aeter memor Caroli II Ma Br Franc et Hibern clementissimi regis reds 29 Maii 1660' within an oak wreath border, Eimer 217, diameter 31mm, weight 12g (extremely fine with old cabinet tone and part reflective fields, clipped planchet), with an old ink-written collector's ticket. Provenance: the collection of the late Robert Pearce of Normanton Hall, Normanton-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire.
