A Hamadan Vagireh style sampler rug, North-west Persia, early 20th century, the dark blue field with overall trailing vine, palmettes and flowerheads, within a pink complimentary border, 189cm x 129cm. Note: Vagireh rugs were made to show various design options and what finished rugs would look like for potential buyers.
