A very large tin-glazed earthenware two-handled potpourri jar and cover, probably 19th century, painted in shades of blue, one side depicting figures ice skating, the other side with a farmer and his wife shearing sheep, the pierced shoulders with floral lappet panels, flanked by elaborate twisted and spiral handles painted with blue splodges, the domed pierced cover painted with sailing boats, unmarked, height 31cm (minor faults).
