A Breitling Genève gilt metal fronted and steel backed gentleman's chronograph wristwatch, Ref. 1781, with signed and jewelled Venus 188 caliber movement, the signed silvered dial with gilt baton hour markers, two subsidiary dials and centre stop seconds, the signed case back numbered '804097' above '1781', case diameter 3.8cm, on a black leather strap. Note: this watch appears to be a re-utilized case, formerly reference 781 with a later added 1. There is a general consensus that Breitling assembled and sold a number of 781s in the early 1950s using older cases with modified reference numbers.
