A Second World War period British Type 3 Mk II B2 spy radio set, circa 1942/1943, serial number '46133', within its brown cardboard suitcase of issue, with Morse key, headset and various components, including five crystal units and four frequency ranges, L1B, L2A, L3A and L4A (parts with some damage, overall distressed condition). Provenance: by family descent to the vendor, originally the property of Brian John Whittingham, who served with the Northern Naval Command HQ, Pitreavie Castle, near Dunfermline, as a wireless operator in contact with NATO navy on exercise in the North Atlantic some time after 1947.
