POP-ART. – The Tate Gallery (publisher). Warhol. London: The Tate Gallery, 1971. Inscribed by Andy Warhol on the half-title, 8vo (210 x 209mm.) Numerous illustrations. (Toning, minor spotting to half-title, name inscribed and ink scribble to the title-page.) Original card covers (toning, spotting to spine). Note: signed in ink by Warhol ‘To Sheila and Dotory [Dorothy], Andy Warhol, 71’. Warhol attended the 1971 Tate Gallery exhibition of his paintings. For the English critics, it marked a shift in their understanding of his work.
