LOT 1185
A Japanese Kakiemon porcelain circular dish, Edo period, circa 1700, the centre painted in underglaze blue with figures, boats and pavilions in a river landscape, framed by a double ring and rock border, within a brightly enamelled and gilt border of flowers and pomegranates, diameter 25.2cm (hairline crack to rim). Note: a similar dish is illustrated in 'Porcelain for Palaces: The Fashion for Japan in Europe 1650-1750' by John Ayers, Oliver Impey and J.V.G. Mallet, 1990, Item 107, page 143.
