An early 20th century tinplate clockwork ocean liner, possibly Carette for the French market, with forward sloping bow, finished in grey, white and red with gilt lining, single propeller and rudder, the light brown deck with two levels, open bridge and two masts with crows' nests, pennants and French tricolor to stern (paint chips, rear mast loose). Provenance: Wallis & Wallis Toy Auction, Monday June 6th 2005, Lot 142. A copy of the auction catalogue is included in this lot.
