LOT 1298
An early 18th century thirty hour longcase clock movement and dial, the movement striking on a bell via an outside countwheel, the 10-inch square brass dial with matt centre, the silvered chapter ring with black Roman hour numerals and signed 'Jno Ettry Horton', with pendulum and weight, within a later oak longcase case, the hood with moulded pediment and glazed door, on bracket feet, height 202cm. Note: John Ettry is a recorded Wiltshire clockmaker. Born in 1717, he worked from Bishops Canning and nearby Horton from 1736 until his death in 1759.
