An early Victorian gold, diamond and enamelled pendant mourning locket, glazed with a central hairwork locket compartment within a blue and white enamelled surround, the outer border designed as a snake mounted with cushion cut diamonds, with a diamond set suspension loop, the back engraved ‘Hair of the Duke of Wellington 14th April 1840 from Colonel Gurwood’, unmarked, weight 8.8g, length 3.6cm.
