Original brown cloth, pictorial gilt to upper cover and spine (inner hinge weakened, joints split). Note: considered one of the most influential works on gardening, this work went through fifteen editions in Williams' lifetime. In rejecting the 'barren geometry' of the formal garden, Williams instead proposed gardens that emphasised the diversity of nature.
