A George III brass mounted ebonized bracket clock, the brass five pillar eight day twin fusee movement with converted anchor escapement, striking hours on a bell, the backplate with finely engraved decoration, the 6-inch brass breakarch dial with matt centre and date aperture, the silvered chapter ring with black Roman hour numerals and outer Arabic minutes, the arch with silvered subsidiary strike/silent dial and inscribed 'Gabriel Leekey London', cornered with cast and pierced gilt urn and scroll spandrels, the case with bell top and brass carry handle above glazed doors and side panels, brass stop-fluted cut corner columns and a moulded plinth base with brass mounted apron and bracket feet, height 45cm, with pendulum, winding key and case key. Note: Gabriel Leekey is a recorded London clockmaker working between 1750 and 1804, then in partnership with his son between 1805 and 1808. He was a member of the Skinners' Company.
