LOT 1044
An 18th century and later enamelled cased keywind gentleman's pocket watch, the gilt fusee movement with verge escapement, Egyptian pillars and finely pierced and engraved balance cock, the backplate signed 'D. Hubert London', the enamelled dial with black Roman hour numerals, the enamelled case interior and exterior painted with a classical figural scene and landscapes, total weight 77.5g, case diameter 3.9cm (restoration), together with two gilt metal and bloodstone set watch keys. Note: David Hubert is a recorded London watchmaker, originally from La Rochelle, France, working from his Strand premises and made free of the Clockmakers' Company between 1714 and 1743.
