A Chinese stained and painted bamboo three-tier wedding basket and cover, early 20th century, of cylindrical form, painted with birds and flowers, with overhead handle, height 60cm, together with a similar oval basket, the sides painted and gilt with figural and landscape panels against a floral and dragon-filled ground, length 55cm.
