A Japanese Satsuma earthenware bowl, attributed to Meizan, Meiji period, of steep-sided circular form, the interior finely painted and gilt with a figural scene beneath a simulated brocade border, the exterior with four figural panels, reserved against simulate brocade, unmarked, height 7.2cm, diameter 12.9cm (restoration).
