LOT 1260
An 18th century ebonized bracket clock, the five pillar single fusee movement with verge escapement and pull quarter repeat on two bells and striking hours on a larger bell, the backplate with finely engraved foliate scrolls, the 6-inch brass breakarch dial with silvered chapter ring framing a matt centre with mock pendulum aperture and date aperture, below a silvered circular boss to the arch, inscribed 'Ellicot London', all cornered with cast and pierced gilt spandrels, the case with bell top and brass carry handle above glazed sides, front and back doors, on a moulded rectangular plinth base, height 45.8cm, with case key and engraved winding key.
