A Victorian 1827 pattern Rifle Volunteers officer's sword with slightly curved single-edged fullered blade, blade length 84.5cm, etched with foliate designs, slung bugle and 'VR' cypher and detailed 'Rifle Volunteers', steel gothic hilt with pierced decoration and wire-bound fishskin grip, with steel scabbard.
