A painted wooden life-preserver/truncheon with bulbous head, the cylindrical body decorated in gilt and colours with Royal coat of arms and motto 'Honi soit qui mal y pense' with 'GR' cypher and date '1798', further detailed 'Tythingman of Meon-Stoke', length 40.5cm (minor faults).
