Mervyn Laurence Peake - Landscape with Trees, 20th century oil on canvas, 59.5cm x 50cm, within a painted wood frame. Provenance: Dorothy Humphrey née Tester, thence by descent. The Tester family were neighbours to the Peake's in Wepham, Sussex. Dorothy Tester worked for Mervyn's parents as a housekeeper, her sister Corina Tester was Mervyn Peake's goddaughter.
