A pair of Chinese famille rose enamelled yellow ground porcelain bowls, mark and period of Guangxu, each of steep sided circular form with slightly flared rim, the exterior gilt with four Wan Shou Wu Jiang characters reserved against a ground of ribbon-tied fylfots, vapours and crashing waves, below an iron red keyfret banded rim, each interior with five iron red and gilt bats surrounding a shou medallion, red enamelled six-character mark to bases, height 6.4cm, diameter 14.1cm (one with minor chip and faint hairline to rim).
