LOT 3254
ROYALTY. A hand-written notice 'Osborne, Bulletin Jan'y 21, 1901 11am' stating that 'The Queen has slightly rallied since midnight. Her Majesty has taken more food and has had some refreshing sleep…' which was likely displayed at the entrance to Osborne House, the day before Queen Victoria died. Provenance: Richard Shrubsole, footman, who presumably kept this notice as a souvenir, thence by descent, together with four later postcards of Osborne House, Isle of Wight.
