A fine Ridgway porcelain 1851 Exhibition cabinet plate, mid-19th century, painted in the style of Watteau with a couple drinking wine within a gilt overlaid coral border, unmarked, diameter 24.3cm. Provenance: from the collection of the late Graham and Rhiannon Berridge. Note: similar pieces are illustrated by Geoffrey Godden in his book 'Ridgway Porcelains', pl.196, p.226 and colour pl.15. Mr Godden notes the pattern number is 6/4946.
