Pélissier, theatrical producer and composer set up 'Pélissier's Follies' where his troupe did the circuit of seaside piers and concert halls before the First World War. They eventually established their satirical 'potted-plays' at venues in London and Manchester, but Pélissier himself died in 1913, aged 39, of alcoholism.
