A 19th century stained pine framed dinner gong, formerly the property of Charles Dickens, the top surface of the frame indistinctly inscribed 'Charles Dickens' flanked by lines of pious verse, height 105cm, width 77cm. Note: this gong is accompanied by a letter of provenance, referring to it's purchase '...at the sale at Gad's Hill in 1870'. Provenance: from the principal contents of Stone House, Bolney, West Sussex.
