LOT 1260
A Regency mahogany longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 12-inch silvered circular dial with black Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds and date aperture, inscribed 'Bartley Bristol', the hood with swan neck pediment and brass finial above a glazed door and fluted ebonized pillars, the rectangular trunk door flanked by cut cornered columns, on a plain base and bracket feet, height 220cm, with pendulum and two weights, the trunk door interior bearing 'M. Bartley, Clock & Watch Maker... Nicholas Street Bristol...' paper label. Note: Mark Bartley is a recorded clockmaker working in Bristol from 1816 to 1855.
