LOT 1257
A George III oak longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 12-inch brass breakarch dial with engraved eagle to arch above Roman hour numerals, subsidiary seconds and date dials, inscribed 'Jas Staples Odiham', the hood with moulded arch pediment and brass ball finials, above an arched trunk door and plain base with plinth, height 207cm, with pendulum and two brass cased weights. Note: James Staples is a recorded Hampshire clockmaker working in Odiham between 1757 and 1795.
