COOKERY. - Austin de CROZE. What to Eat and Drink in France. London: Frederick Warne & Co. Ltd., 1931. First edition, 8vo (186 x 122mm.) 29pp. index to rear. (Toning, spotting to the half-title, marginal tears to p.249, p.251 and p.309, offsetting to endpapers.) Original grey pictorial cloth with blue lettering (lightly bumped spine ends), dust-jacket designed by M.H.B.J. (minor staining and crease to lower panel, two neat repairs verso, price-clipped). Note: scarce. Austin de Croze wrote on folk-lore and music but his work on gastronomy has been more significant and his focus on regional food has led him to being considered an originator of the 'food heritage movement'. Provenance: 'Olive and Will' (gift inscribed from on the half-title).
