LOT 1260
An 18th century gilt brass mounted ebonized bracket timepiece with eight day single fusee movement, formerly quarter repeating on a bell, the backplate with foliate engraved decoration, the 7-inch brass breakarch dial with silvered boss to arch, inscribed 'WM Webster Exchange Alley London', above a silvered chapter ring with black Roman hour numerals and outer Arabic minutes, framing a matt centre with mock pendulum aperture, alarm dial and date aperture, the case with inverted bell top, brass carrying handle and turned finials, above glazed doors and side panels, on a moulded plinth base with bracket feet, height 47.5cm, with pendulum (alterations and restoration).
