A mid-19th century Dutch silver nécessaire of curved rectangular form, the hinged lid engraved with a church and buildings framed by scrolls, opening to reveal a gilt interior fitted with silver gilt implements, including a tape measure, folding knife and bobbin case, also fitted with a 9ct gold thimble, Birmingham 1919, weight 3.5g, and a pair of scissors, weight of case only 178.8g.
