A late 19th century French lacquered brass gorge case petite sonnerie carriage clock by Vieyres & Repingon, with eight day movement striking and repeating the hours and quarters on two bells, the backplate stamped 'Vieyres & Repingon Paris' and numbered '2827', the signed white enamelled dial with black Roman hour numerals, the gorge case with swing handle and bevelled glass panels, two position 'striking' and 'silent' lever to base, height 15.5cm, with winding key. Provenance: formerly the property of Tom Robinson, past chairman of the Antiquarian Horological Society and author of various horological books including 'The Longcase Clock'.
