Anthonie Palamedesz (1601-1673) - Half Length Portrait of Marinus Stavenisse (1601-1663), oil on canvas, signed and dated 1660, 80cm x 67cm, within a stained wood and gilt frame of wide section, with applied titled plaque. Note: the Stavenisse family armorial upper right is encircled by the Collar of the Order of Saint Michael (Le collier de l'ordre de Saint-Michel), this example awarded by Jacques Auguste de Thou, ambassador to Louis XIV in The Hague, to Marinus van Stavenisse, is one of just three to have survived and is on display at the Musée de la Légion d'honneur, Paris.
