A Japanese inlaid lacquer rectangular panel, Meiji period, inlaid in carved and stained ivory, bone and mother-of-pearl, depicting a folklore scene of Bunbuku Chagama (badger tea kettle) with a tanuki (racoon dog) transformed into a tea kettle beside a startled male figure, on a black ground, carved and red stained signature plaque to lower left corner, glazed with ebonized frame, 29.2cm x 41cm.
