LOT 1133
A mid-18th century oak longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 12-inch brass breakarch dial with moonphase to arch above a matt centre with subsidiary seconds and date aperture, framed by a chapter ring inscribed 'John Robinson Westminster', all cornered with cast and pierced brass spandrels, the hood with moulded arch pediment, glazed door and fluted columns, the trunk with arched door, on a plain base and plinth, height 214cm (alterations and restoration), with pendulum and a pair of brass cased weights. Note: John Robinson is a recorded London clockmaker working in Westminster between 1730 and 1755.
