PHILATELY. The Royal Philatelic Society, London 1869-1969. Glasgow: Robert Maclehose & Company Ltd., 1969. 4to (279 x 212mm.) Numerous photographic illustrations. (Mild toning.) Original blue cloth, black cloth lettering labels mounted to upper cover and spine. Note: an archive of philately-related books and material from the collection of Peter Langmead- who donated his stamp collection to the British Library in 1991. Langmead's focus was on telegraph stamps, especially those of South Africa. The archive includes three bound volumes of facsimiles of Langmead's stamp collection, several volumes of the journal of the 'Anglo-Boer War Philatelic Society' and books relating to British stamps and South African stamps ('The South African Provisional War Stamps' by Bertram W.H. Poole, 1901, 8vo) (a quantity).
