THEOSOPHY. - Reginald MACHELL (illustrator) and Irene OSGOOD. An Idol's Passion. New York and London: The Transatlantic Publishing Company, 1895. Loose-leaf (523 x 419mm.) Half-title, title, 17 tinted plates incorporating the text mounted on 17 sheets. (Soiling to half-title, toning to margins.) Loose-leaf within original grey cloth-covered portfolio (worn, ties broken). Note: Reginald Machell met Helena Blavatsky in London and joined her Theosophical lodge in 1888. In 1900, he moved to the Point Loma community in California. He is known mainly for his work, The Path, but he also designed furniture and wrote many articles for Theosophical journals. - And a further fourteen volumes, mainly art related (15).
