HAMILTON, William. Observations on Mount Vesuvius, Mount Etna, and Other Volcanos: in a Series of Letters, Addressed to the Royal Society. London: T. Cadell, 1774. New edition, 8vo (193 x 120mm.) 5 engraved plates, 1 folding engraved map. (Toning, a three-inch tear to map.) Early 19th century tree calf, red morocco lettering piece to the spine (light rubbing to extremities). Note: the first edition was published in 1772. Provenance: by descent, from the estate of Rendel Williams.
