PALMER, Francis. Views in Leicestershire. [Leicester: F. Palmer & E.S. Palmer, 1842.] Oblong 4to (214 x 266mm.) 14 lithographed plates. (Damp-stain to upper margins, spotting to all margins.) Original printed wrappers (chipped to extremities, minor loss to upper wrapper). Note: rare. Born in Leicester, Francis Palmer and her husband, Edmund Palmer, opened a lithography business in Leicester with herself as artist and her husband as printer. In 1843 they emigrated to America and Francis became one of the most prolific artists for Nathaniel Currier's lithography business in New York. In this publication, 13 of the 14 views were also published in Thomas Rossell Potter's 'The History and Antiquities of Charnwood Forest', 1842.
