WOOD, William. Index Testaceologicus; or, A Catalogue of Shells, British and Foreign, Arranged According to the Linnean System. London: for W. Wood, 1828. 'Second' edition, 8vo (212 x 129mm.) 38 hand-coloured engraved plates, lacking the Supplement. (Occasional browning and offsetting, spotting to front and rear endpapers.) Contemporary green half morocco over marbled paper-covered boards (rubbing to extremities). Provenance: Charlotte Carnegie (name-plate to front pastedown). - And a further seven volumes related to conchology (including John Mawe's 'Wodarch's Introduction to the Study of Conchology: describing the Orders, Genera, and Species of Shells', 1827, 8vo). Provenance: by descent, from the estate of Rendel Williams (8).
