A mid-19th century French Louis Philippe I ormolu mounted rosewood and inlaid musical portico clock, the eight day movement striking hours and half hours on a bell via an outside countwheel, the backplate inscribed 'Berthet & Bazelaire a Paris', the silvered circular dial with black Arabic hour numerals within a cast swan, dragon, flower and scroll ormolu surround, the rectangular top and base inlaid with flowers and scrolling foliage, united by four vertically line inlaid columns, on turned feet, height 50.5cm, with a cast ormolu twin swan and mask pendulum, the Swiss musical movement with 6.5cm cylinder, detailed 'VMG 2174', housed in a similarly inlaid stand, total height 58cm.
