A Japanese Satsuma earthenware vase, Meiji period, the swollen cylindrical body thickly enamelled and gilt with a bird and flowers in a landscape, beneath a flared neck filled with precious objects, gilt two-character mark above stylized iron red gourd shaped signature panel to side, height 12.5cm, together with a Japanese pottery gourd shaped vase with cream slip decoration on an oatmeal glazed ground, height 11.5cm.
