A Victorian silver flagon with hinged lid above a tapering cylindrical body, engraved with opposing Bacchanalian scenes of putti harvesting grapes and hops between mask and scroll borders, flanked by a mask spout and foliate capped scroll handle with putto head thumbpiece, the front with engraved inscription 'Presented to Henry Wood Esqre of the Madras Civil Service by the Members of The Madras Hunt... ', Sheffield 1863 by W. & G. Sissons, weight 1020g, height 22cm. Note: a non-transferrable ivory exemption certificate has been granted for the sale of this item.
