A collection of ephemera, including an autograph letter signed by George Campbell 6th Duke Argyll addressed to [Beau] Brummell, concluding 'adieu I have no scandal or news to tell you', paper watermarked 1816, 120 x 185mm., a vellum-bound manuscript inventory of household goods dating 1792-1793, a small scrap book containing mounted prints and manuscript verse, a leather-bound account book circa 1853-1870, a manuscript prompt copy of 'Paul Pry' dated 1825, an indenture dated 1778 between George O'Brein, Earl of Egremont and Joseph Barwick of Bushgill head in the Parish of Wigton, manuscript journal fragment dated 14 November 1853, New York, manuscript leaves titled 'On the Dreadful Hurricane which happened in Kent on the 19th of Augt. 1763', a papal bull dated 1705 and a manuscript leaf relating to a recipe for 'An infallible cure for the bite of a mad-dog brought from Tonquin by Sir George Cobb Bart'.
