PHOTOGRAPHS, JAPAN. A collection of 17 stereoscopic viewing cards of Japan published by Underwood & Underwood, including stereoscopic photographs titled 'A picturesque toiler of the sea with his curious fishing net, bay of Matsushima', 'A family of middle-class picnicking under the cherry blossoms, Omuro Gosho, Kyoto', 'Big sisters and little brothers in the Land of the Rising Sun, Yokohama' and 'Looking S.E. from the pine-crowned heights of Suwa-yama over prosperous and lovely Kobe' contained within a clothbound box titled 'Japan Through the Stereoscope', together with a printed Japanese scroll and a woodblock printed hand-stitched book for Samurai retainers circa 1865.
